That is some rich fragrant shit there.Dand wrote:The Podesta Wikileaks show Podesta being phished. Virtually anyone with enough knowledge to make a site that appeared to be a legitimate site could have gotten his username/password and accessed the emails that were leaked.
There is no evidence that some high tech super secret hacking took place. Podesta and staff are not computer savvy and he fell for a phishing site.
Obama really looks like he is making a final attack on free speech and journalism. We'll see how it goes. So far the mass, coordinated, "Fake News" attack from mainstream networks could be as impotent as their election coverage. They want to put up a fight though and Obama's statements today and in the Rolling Stone interview last week (their bullshit site prevens me from copying and pasting but here's a link http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/fe ... rd-w452527) indicate he wants to help curb free speech by somehow controlling where people get their news from.
edit: or at least Obama wants some kind of Federal blacklist.
Hacking is hacking son and the only leg you have to stand on is that it is well known we do this shit right back at them, and we are going to continue to do that because everyone is doing it.
You know about the phishing because the hackers released the results of the hack. Just because they didn't do some TV techno witch doctor shit to get that doesn't mean that's all they know how to do.
Also, yeah, telling people something is bullshit is the same as telling people where they have to get their news from.

Guccifer 2.0 does not claim to be Russian, and zero evidence exists in public to prove that assertion. The spoofing attack he used could have been launched by kids it was so simple.
You watch too much fake news. Turn off the CNN and MSNBC. It rots your brain.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
Good article, I understand that Russia uses paid internet shills for propaganda. The United States does too; at the federal level (Old article but I'm sure that in 2016 we use shills and/or bots online http://www.nytimes.com/2002/02/19/world ... d=tw-share) and campaign level (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2 ... ebook.html). Many services offer Twitter followers (bots or paid shills) for sale. Fake internet users are SOP in 2016 and I accept that Russia wanted Trump to win.ssu wrote:I think it's evident how simple the phishing method was. And these people just blabber everything in their emails and likely in their unsecure phonecalls (like during the Ukrainian revolution).
Yet there evidence of Russian Active Measures, even assuming you don't trust your government and their intelligence services one bit, is there.
Not the evidence on that for some reason some Russian "dedicated professional internet debaters" got somehow in the summer very enthusiastic of Trump. See (from 27th July 2016) It looks like Russia hired internet trolls to pose as pro-Trump Americans
I've followed that Washington Post article since it was first published and it's as blatant propaganda as those Russian shills. WP ran a story about an anonymous group that compiled a blacklist without any evidence that those on the list are funded or controlled by Russia. Now they've had to correct or update the story multiple times and at least two of the sites from the list are suing The Washington Post. It's irresponsible reporting and is itself Fake News. Glen Greenwald's attack on the article.Or here a story how these fake news happened:
See (24th November 2016) Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news’ during election, experts sayThe Daily Beast debunked a particularly widely read piece in an article that reached 1,700 Facebook accounts and was read online more than 30,000 times. But the PropOrNot researchers found that the version supported by Russian propaganda reached 90,000 Facebook accounts and was read more than 8 million times. The researchers said the true Daily Beast story was like “shouting into a hurricane” of false stories supported by the Russians.
Or then the proven fake Sidney Blumenthal email By Russian Sputnik media-site, just to give one specific example. See Dear Donald Trump And Vladimir Putin, I Am Not Sidney Blumenthal
Or that an Russian official bragged that "“maybe we helped a bit with WikiLeaks.” See (November 10th) Russian Government: Actually, We Were in Contact With the Trump Campaign
And before you launch into accusations that I'm anti-Trump and a sore Pro-Hillary loser clinging to some Obama operation, please understand that Russia supports genuine political entities when it is in it's favour. Just to take other examples from not so long ago:
- Russia first supported Scottish Independence.
- Then Russia supported Brexit.
The Scottish SNP and some UKIP are totally on opposite sides, hence Russian support is opportunism, yet the logic is obvious: Scottish Independence would have weakened the UK, Brexit weakened EU. And it's not even worth mentioning which candidate in the US elections was worse for Russia.
I'll agree that Russia wanted Trump to win but I am not so afraid of Russia that I would want to vote against what I think was best for my country just to spite Russia. Do you see what I mean? An argument of "Russia wants Trump too" isn't convincing to Americans that want Trump.

Yes, I know about the phishing because the Wikileaks include the phishing and the Wikileaks are verified. They are not fake. I'm not making any arguments about what "they" know how to do. My argument was that many people could have phished Podesta and it didn't have to be the Russians. I'd agree with your insinuation that the Russian government is probably capable of more sophisticated attacked but I don't know what those would be. I think that Obama's recent statements do indicate he wants to tell people where they have to get their news from and like I said, we'll see. We disagree on our interpretations of him.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
Well, I am surprised to see so many deniers that Russia hacked the DNC. I thought this board was smarter:
People who vetoed for Trump because of these emails voted for a Russian puppet
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/na ... 6c8e5f7f90The CIA has concluded in a secret assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win the presidency, rather than just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system, according to officials briefed on the matter.
Intelligence agencies have identified individuals with connections to the Russian government who provided WikiLeaks with thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and others, including Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, according to U.S. officials. Those officials described the individuals as actors known to the intelligence community and part of a wider Russian operation to boost Trump and hurt Clinton’s chances.
“It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected,” said a senior U.S. official briefed on an intelligence presentation made to U.S. senators. “That’s the consensus view.”

Zero evidence provided that the Russians were the source of the DNC leaks.
Which are different from Podesta's Gmail account being hacked.
Zero - fuck all - evidence has been provided.

And like I said; 4chan literally hacked Podesta. His password was on Reddit and he never bothered to change it after learning he was hacked the first time. This guy isn't the smartest of opsec cats.

I would probably be more upset if the United States hadn't been interfering with foreign elections and governments for the past fifty some odd years. I believe it was probably the Russians, but I still haven't seen any evidence beyond internal secret assertions by the CIA..
