Re: Trump's SCOTUS
Today is the first day in 2.5 or 3 weeks that the Justices have been back at the SCOTUS office in person.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
BHO appointed 55 circuit judges in 8 years.
Trump has appointed 40 judges in 2.3 years.
At this pace Trump will appoint 69 in his first term.
More important than the raw numbers is that circuit courts are being flipped from solid Lefty judges to more moderate ones.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
An interesting set of opinions this morning in Gamble v. US.
Hmmm.... Justice Repo Man and the Notorious RBG stand alone against the majority. Gorsuch's dissenting opinion is worth a read, if you are interested in the actual history of the Republic. https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/1 ... 6_d18e.pdfHolding: The dual sovereignty doctrine—under which two offenses are not the “same offence” for double jeopardy purposes if prosecuted by separate sovereigns—is upheld.
Judgment: Affirmed, 7-2, in an opinion by Justice Alito on June 17, 2019. Justice Thomas filed a concurring opinion. Justice Ginsburg and Justice Gorsuch filed dissenting opinions.
Enforcing the Constitution always bears its costs. But when the people adopted the Constitution and its Bill of Rights, they thought the liberties promised there worth the costs. It is not for this Court to reassess this judgment to make the prosecutor’s job easier. Nor is there any doubt that the benefits the framers saw in prohibiting double prosecutions remain real, and maybe more vital than ever, today. When governments may unleash all their might in multiple prosecutions against an individual, exhausting themselves only when those who hold the reins of power are content with the result, it is “the poor and the weak,” and the unpopular and controversial, who suffer first—and there is nothing to stop them from being the last. The separate sovereigns exception was wrong when it was invented, and it remains wrong today.

Thanks for the academic POV.
You must be able to crank out 30 or 40 briefs a day.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
Fife all but hurt cuz Zlaxer said SCOTUs will be obsolete under progressive rule.
You made a "O' look SCOTUS is solidifying the power of the State" post....No one cares anymore because the Constitution is a figurehead. No matter how much you don't like that.
