We're almost a year into the National Security Advisor, John Boltons tenure and we are not in any new wars, in fact appears like we are moving toward getting out of foreign wars. The end result is yet to be seen.
Based on the last year, Trump appears to have Bolton in check. Bolton very recently seemed to be pushing for a military intervention in Venezuela, that hasn't happened and for the moment it appears diplomacy is the weapon Trump is wielding against Maduro.
