Holy fuckin' Erik Karlsson is a bag of squeaky toys right now, whatever they did to his ankle, he has not been the same since, Legolas is sucking so hard, I would bench him if I was Boucher, Karlsson is ice cancer right now.

Five point game for Mitch Marner! Kicking the Sens while they're down! 6-3 Leafs, 8-1 since the tweak!

Brock McGinn is burning us right now, hockey gods so cruel. 2-1 Carolina, and we need these points without MacKinnon, lame.

Preds win in Montreal, Sens take it in the ass, spiraling down, Habs take it in the ass, spiralling down, Leafs 19 points into the playoffs, life is good!

Oilers scratch and claw their way back into the game, have all the momentum in the third, then with two minutes left, Milan Lucic just chucks the puck up the middle at the blueline and it comes right back down the ice and into the Oilers net on the counter play, Sharks win 5-4. Lucic with 9 goals in 53 games on the season, at $6 million, 5 more years on the contract, with full no movement clause; tha's brootal.
I thought the Loui Eriksson contract was the worst contract in the NHL, but I think Lucic has moved into that spot now, at least Vancouver only has four years left with Loui Eriksson omfglols

Re: Real Olympic thread [[[[NO HOCKEY ALLOWED]]]]]
Just checked the advanced stats at hockey reference.com, and Jake Gardiner has a better Corsi CF%, comparable Fenwick FF%, and a better PDO than PK Subban, so contrary to popular myth, Jake Gardiner is actually the better possession player, at $4.1 million.
Subban has 12 more goals, that's about the only area he's significantly better, but 12 more goals ain't worth $5 million more, so I reiterate, I would rather have Gardiner at a reasonable rate than Subban at $9 million, if I'm going to pay $9 million for a player, he needs to be way better than Subban, that contract was a ridiculous overpay.
The more closely I watch Subban, the more overrated he looks, like watch him here, flopping around like a fish out of water, if Jake Gardiner had flopped like that, he would be crucified for it, but it's PK, so he gets away with being a clown show apparently.
Takes himself completely out of the play, for no good reason, lying around on the ice as the shorty goes the other way, we'd never let J-Gards live that down, but PK takes himself out of the play like that all the time, the more I pay attention to the play and not the hype, the more PK actually fails to live up to his contract, he's being carried by a much better defenceman, namely Roman Josi.
Roman Josi is amazing, he's the real deal Norris caliber d-man on that team, PK is way overrated, PK is like the black Dion Phaneuf, he's good, but not worth a huge money contract, certainly nothing like $9 million, more than Sydney Crosby, which is absurd.
Montreal doesn't have the supporting cast to exploit Weber, but I think Weber is the more valuable asset, PK is replaceable, you can get a rushing defenceman to do what PK does for a fraction of the price, but Weber is like Chara, the Big Nasty and Big Z are much rarer birds, PK doesn't scare anybody, he's a clown with a big shot, the Big Nasty has a big shot, and he scares the living shit out of people too, I'd rather have Jake Gardiner with Weber than Jake Gardiner with Subban, all day.
When the Leafs play Weber, they're intimidated by him, he insulates Price, they won't go to the dirty areas against the Big Nasty, but with PK, they're not impressed at all, see above rookie Kapanen blowing by PK like it ain't no thang, if that was Weber, Kapanen would have folded, he never would have went for a 50-50 with Weber, and with good reason, because Weber wouldn't have flopped on the ice, he would have taken the body and crumpled Kapanen like a rag doll.
The problem in Montreal is that they have no centers, no centers at all never mind a real deal number one and two, but if you put Weber on the Leafs, whole 'nother ballgame, Weber just needs a better team to play with to fully exploit the Big Nasty, like Big Z on Boston.
Roman Josi winning the Norris? OK, that makes sense, but PK winning the Norris? That was a joke, he just plays the media hype game, but he doesn't live up to that award nor the contract that came with it, "Norris Trophy" PK can't even get on the ice with Team Canada, while Shea Weber was the undisputed leader of the D in back to back gold medal wins, nuff said.
It's not that I don't like PK, I'd definitely get along with him as a person, I like cocky bastards, I'm one too, but on the ice, he's more flash than substance, and Nashville lost in the finals to a team whose number one d-man by ice time was Ron Hainsey, so PK didn't live up to the "Norris" hype when the chips were down.
The gold standard for the Norris is Lidstrom, giving it to guys like Subban and Brent Burns, has just turned the once greatest individual award in hockey into a joke. Sad.
