Re: Our Man Flynn
The good thing is this shit has finally got me to quit listening to cable news 24/7.
Just sad.
Imagine being in a room with the type of people in the WH and having them all telling you what to do when you have no fucking clue what to do. You got 4 star generals, life time politicians and lawyers telling you to bail on Flynn. The pressure to make the move had to me immense.
Then you got Bannon, Kellyanne and Flynn saying fuck those guys listen to us, we got you elected...
Trump choked. Games over. Flynn was mission critical. Neocon take over to commence.
Trump wouldn't be in this situation if he picked Jim Webb for VP.

That's right, because they are tears of liberty being shed; the natural flavor of someone in a non-cucked state of mind. Not nearly as salty as Liberal eye water.
Bad news for you though Grump, now you get the worst of what Trump has to offer. A totally co-opted presidency led by religious zealots and neocons.
Hope you fucking enjoy it.

You don't know the whole story, KY. You have been letting the MSM manipulate your emotions for a while now. Seriously, just settle down.

Now now Grumps, It's just not polite to take pleasure from another's pain, stay classy and just enjoy the truth that we all knew this clown was never clever enough to run a country.GrumpyCatFace wrote:

Please explain how you think Michael Flynn was going to change this from a total shitshow, into an acceptable administration?

Re: Our Man Flynn
The way I see this thing.
1. Did Flynn operate outside the rules, probably to some extent. So, fine he goes.
2. Our Establishment is doing a victory lap. They have asserted there power.
3. Intelligence Establishment didn't like Flynn and took him down with aid of their friends in the Media Establishment.
Looks to me we have a nice little war between the Establishment and Trump Admin.

Re: Our Man Flynn
While I agree that the establishment GOP members on the cabinet were probably pushing hardest to drop Flynn (Pence, Tillerson, Pompeo, Mattis, Kelly), everyone was already pissed at Flynn.kybkh wrote:Imagine being in a room with the type of people in the WH and having them all telling you what to do when you have no fucking clue what to do. He was on notice already for stupid shit drama, not the kind Bannon likes, but shit like Flynn Jr. tweeting conspiratard bullshit after being hired for the Transition team. That pissed Trump right off, said fuck that, fire him.
He was throwing elbows with the NSC, refusing to integrate any WH recommended staff, and setting the whole office up as Flynn loyalists only. Flynn's NSC office was in charge of producing the PDB, you need some other people in the room to make sure the info is balanced to Trump's concerns, not just Flynn's. Why do you think Pompeo was added to the NSC PC 3 days after the reorg memo? Because they were concerned.
Rumors from IC agencies said NSC was placing "liaisons" to the front desc of every agency... That shit will get people pissed off and make them think Flynn is trying to be the sole controller of the intelligence Trump is exposed to.
So now, Flynn had told Pence, and likely everyone else in the WH, that there was nothing to worry about regarding the phone calls. He was probably authorized to talk to the Russian Ambassador, but was expected to not use phrasing that would appear to undermine the current POTUS and government's policies. You say "I'm sure President Trump will be eager to work on improving our relationship after he's inaugurated", you do not say "don't worry about those sanctions, they won't last long. Don't overreact on this, we're with you, these sanctions won't last a month".
So yeah, I understand that Flynn was the kind of ideological operative a lot of people wanted to see in the WH leadership, but he was not a team player, steamrolled others, didn't share, did dumb stuff, lied about it, etc. This has been building since mid December.
If anything, a lot of blame goes to the WH and Trump, because none of these actions should have come as a surprise. Everyone who has worked with Flynn has similar complaints, and if they wanted to utilize him without causing trouble, there should have been stronger ground rules and organization.

Wow, there's a whole lot of overreacting going on here. One guy had to resign. Oh, no, the next 4 years have been turned to dust!!! One. guy. resigned.
The story here isn't that Flynn resigned, it's what happened that led up to it.
KY, calm down. This doesn't mean the entire direction of Trump's presidency has changed.
Monte, that "clown" IS running the country. That non-so-clever clown outflanked both parties for months and got elected. Enjoy Flynn resigning while the rest of us enjoy the many and more significant changes to come.
