Also I can help with good games for your kid if you want, I've been looking at games for a while. The best right now are the lego series, they are fun even for adults, up for 4 people can play I believe, and you, your son and your wife if she wants to join can play together.

Seconded. The Lego games are pretty damn good. Look for the complete Star Wars saga - they combined all 6 into one game.
You can play them together and help him beat the puzzles, and he can run around smashing stuff.
