Scott Adams called the whole mess a checkmate for Trump. The Dems were trying to distance themselves from the four “progressives,” but now they are forced to embrace them. That means they are endorsing Socialism, hate of Israel and the USA! Not good for the Democrats!

Scott Adams can be tiring to listen to on topics he knows nothing about, but when he's on point, he's got the goods. This is one of those occasions where he nailed it.

Pelosi was trying to distance most Dems from the AOC brand, because she knows it's a loser, Trump prevented Pelosi from doing that effectively by forcing her to publicly embrace her not long after publicly attacking her, because he knows AOC being the face of the Democrats hurts them.

It keeps the focus on AOC longer than it would have if he hadn't stepped in. Democrats being united with far left crazies is not good for the Democrats chances against Trump.

Yes, the goal is to trigger them into defending to AOC and Omar publicly and showing emotion while doing so, you have to be provocative to maximize that effect. He remembers the reaction when he referred to other nations as shitholes, and played that same card again here. He gave the right the excuse they need to defend Trump, Omar is from Somalia, just because he said congresswomen instead of congresswoman in a tweet, is a mere nitpick designed to draw attention of his haters while preserving plausible deniability of his supporters in the same sentence.

I was just thinking that same thing this morning on the way to work. Right after the newbies called Pelosi racist, and they looked to be trying to silence them, in comes Trump and gets the old Democrat guard to defend the newbies who they were just days ago telling to stand down.

He is playing them and the media yet again. Trump may love the attention, but the media keeps falling for the traps and giving him more of what he wants.
