AOC is trying to be Trump by getting all this media attention, but the problem is, the more people see of her, the more they recoil, because unlike Trump, she is playing to a really small base and pissing a lot of people off instead of playing to a large base and pissing a lot of people off.The Conservative wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:53 pmThat's not shots fired, that's putting her back in her place, which should be bartending.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:42 pmShots fired!

Also Trump has a very flexible brand that allows him to change policy positions on a whim and still stay on brand, where as AOC has pigeon holed her brand as a left wing culture warrior and changing her policy positions would be betraying her brand. She is way further out in left field than Trump ever was on the right and her ability to pivot to center is being shot to shit with each passing day. If she doesn't pivot soon she'll be lucky to ever win a Senate seat, and she'll never have a shot at the Presidency.

Wanting to make America a better place is not equal to hating.
What you call haters is just patriots with a different view of the future from you.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Not everyone who wants America to step it's game up are patriots, there are plenty of haters in that group, and they aren't hard to spot.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 2:33 amWanting to make America a better place is not equal to hating.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
Apparantly "hating America" = hating one's government and system of government.
For a forum populated by people who advocate either abolishing American democracy altogether, only allowing military to vote, who advocate eugenics for poor people, or who consider it "treason" for ex-presidents to talk to foreign politicians, there seems to be plenty of people here who "hate" the rights and liberties of America, already...

indeed
Do You Hate the State?
Do You Hate the State?
Perhaps the word that best defines our distinction is "radical." Radical in the sense of being in total, root-and-branch opposition to the existing political system and to the State itself. Radical in the sense of having integrated intellectual opposition to the State with a gut hatred of its pervasive and organized system of crime and injustice. Radical in the sense of a deep commitment to the spirit of liberty and antistatism that integrates reason and emotion, heart and soul.

Michelle Obama said she was never proud of America until her husband got elected. That is not being a patriot. That is hating your country and wishing it was something else entirely. That is NOT wanting it to be a better place, that is wanting it to be a different place.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 2:33 amWanting to make America a better place is not equal to hating.

Same goes for all these "radical" Democrats. The only thing they want to make better is their position in the power structure. They are not patriots at all.
