https://www.politico.eu/article/china-p ... on-report/
If the only way to conduct trade with China is to pander to their enormously shrill, thin skinned, responsibility-deflecting antics, the Chinese might want to remember that there are other countries where we can make people work for little pay, big profits and sell our products to, and richer countries that might want to invest in our and other countries' businesses. Maybe it's time to heaviliy invest in some African, Central Asian or Latin American economies and build some markets for something other than charity money? If ever there was a better way for the US to push China out of some of the markets it is growing for itself, it is now.An EU report about Chinese and Russian disinformation on coronavirus was watered down after pressure from Beijing.
Three people confirmed to POLITICO that Chinese diplomats exerted pressure on the EU to change the wording of the report, details of which were first reported in Brussels Playbook on Tuesday.
...
The NYT article also quoted an email from a senior adviser to the EU's top diplomat, Josep Borrell, who ordered the report be held back and "asked analysts to differentiate between pushing disinformation and aggressively pushing a narrative." An EU official who disagreed with the changes was quoted saying that the bloc's diplomats were “self-censoring to appease the Chinese Communist Party.”
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.

This is an issue with any organization that can get funds from the government. They are going to try and get every cent they can. In Education, they under-report disciplinary actions so they can qualify for specific government grants you get for not suspending the black and hispanic kids for sexual harassment and drug dealing on campus. I saw this crap all the time when I worked in the public school system.

The correct response is for Europe and North America to move production back to their own countries. Centralizing production and supply chains turned out to be a catastrophic mistake. Shocking. Next we are going to discover that the pursuit of economic efficiency for its own sake results in dangerous fragility. Crazy!

Hard to move production back to your own country when the other first world countries are going to continue to Use cheap global labor.
Who is buying $35 jeans made in America when everyone else is mass producing jeans out of Asia and selling for $19 a pair at Walmart?
I too wish we could move manufacturing back, but I don’t see how a businessman would make the labor costs work while still remaining competitive.

Oh so you are what we always thought you were. A huge hypocrite. As long as you believe in the Church and repeat its doctrine you can have all the indulgences you require. You can be a leper Lothario but Ohio man with a facebook post questioning the orthodoxy should go to a camp or some shit. You are covering yourself in glory.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 8:52 pmclubgop wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 8:46 pmReally bitch? Isolation isn't prison. LOL
It’s crazy out there right now. Quarantine dick is in high demand. Parks are open here anyway. I don’t know what to tell you. I might go hiking with a new chick tomorrow.

You are losing your mind. Last I checked the governor’s order does not prohibit sex, and our parks are open as long as we keep six feet apart from other groups and groups are only a few people. NC seems to be doing fine. Good luck with whatever is spinning you into a rage over there.
