Crazy thing is, I'm ready to ship Kadri out of town.
Nylander looks ready to take the job, he's so much faster than Kadri, Kadri looks so slow, lost a step already.
The Leafs literally have too many centers now.

First world problems. Not many teams have too many centers, that makes for good trade fodder.Smitty-48 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:03 pm Crazy thing is, I'm ready to ship Kadri out of town.

Same with the Avs, too many RHD's, but everyone else needs one, first world problem, trade bait ftw.

Kadri is worth more to other teams than he is to the Leafs.StCapps wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:04 pmFirst world issues. Not many teams have too many centers, that makes for good trade fodder.Smitty-48 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2019 11:03 pm Crazy thing is, I'm ready to ship Kadri out of town.

Trade him before he loses another step.
To get a top defensemen, it's gonna cost a center, and Nylander is too fast to trade away.

Like, Kadri was invisible this year.
He looked slow out there.
He only scored 16 goals.
His value is his grit, but he fucked up last year, screwed the team being a hot head.
He better be dominating in this playoff.
If not, I'd say he's falling off very quickly and they should move him before his value tanks.

Fuck, apparently the Avs were one ball away from getting Auston Matthews, had the best odds before the final ball fell, but that ball put the Leafs over the top instead.
Your welcome Avs West, we have the worst draft lottery luck ever, even the Leafs be stealing picks from us, even if deservedly so that year.
The downgrade from Matthews to Jost, god damn it. Could have had Matthews, Hughes and MacKinnon, if the Hockey Gods treated the Avs like the Oilers or Devils, oh well.

Re: MHF - Hockey Thread
The team with Taylor Hall on it has drafted first overall in five of the last nine drafts. I think we found out who is rigging these draft lotteries. Absolutely ridiculous, luckiest draft charm in NHL history, by far.
That's reason enough to try and sign him in free agency or trade for him, overpay if you have to, because you have a better than 50% chance of drafting first overall if you do apparently.
2 out of the 5 those first overall picks are generational talents too, fucking Taylor Hall and his draft voodoo. Take that Gretzky, your pull with the hockey gods in the draft lottery is nothing compared to Taylor "Lottery Rigger" Hall, or should I say, Slippin' Taylor, Jimmy McGill Knows.
Yet another reason that Taylor Hall trade is one of the worst blemishes on Chiarelli's trade record, of which there are many. As if it wasn't bad enough already.

Weather's still not great but at least there is some sunshine for playoffs opening day.
To get warmed up I'm watching classic Leafs playoffs.
Blues @ Leafs 1986.
The Hound Line: Clark - Courtnall - Leeman.
Dougie Gilmour playing for the Blues.
The Loafs were actually a similar team then.
Young, all offence, no defence, best powerplay in the league, but couldn't keep the puck out of their own net.
Rick Vaive was Tavares, Clark was Matthews, Leeman was Marner, Courtnall was Nylander.
That "new" Leafs sweater of the 70's is the "classic" Leafs sweater now.
Everything comes full circle in the end.
Bruce Bell playing in this game for the Blues.
Bruce Bell being the target of arguably Wendel's most infamous body check ever.
