I said it was a metaphor. I did not mean actual crabs getting cooked in a bucket. Just Californians. I am not a monster.
I get that you are joking around, but making light of the crimes against humanity that take place every day at Captain D's is not really a source of amusement for me. I had a pet fiddler crab as a kid, and those creatures are very dear to me. Quite smart too. I can't imagine how I would sleep at night if I knew that my own relatives were conducting their own Final Solution. This is all too much for me right now... Why can't Donne just admit to the world that he walked away like a coward when he should have taken a stand?

Fun fact: Californians have ranked as the most hated Americans by other Americans for decades running.
I find it incredibly hard to believe that New Yorkers are more likes than Californians.

Source, or ass?

Hard to find a comparative diet study that does not show veganism as being much less environmentally harmful than other diets.

I’m sure there are some trash click-bait articles that one can pull up that make a dubious rhetorical connection between veganism and avocados and pomegranates.
https://qz.com/749443/being-vegan-isnt- ... you-think/
So why not go whole-hog vegan?

When applied to an entire global population, the vegan diet wastes available land that could otherwise feed more people. That’s because we use different kinds of land to produce different types of food, and not all diets exploit these land types equally.

Grazing land is often unsuitable for growing crops, but great for feeding food animals such as cattle.
Perennial cropland supports crops that are alive year-round and are harvested multiple times before dying, including a lot of the grain and hay used to feed livestock.
Cultivated cropland is where you typically find vegetables, fruits and nuts.
The five diets that contained the most meat used all available crop and animal grazing land. The five diets using the least amount of meat—or none at all—varied in land use. But the vegan diet stood out because it was the only diet that used no perennial cropland at all, and, as a result, would waste the chance to produce a lot of food.
Correction: An earlier version of this story was published with the headline, “Being vegan isn’t as environmentally friendly as you think.” The headline and descriptions of sustainability were changed to more accurately reflect the research described in the story, which focuses on using land efficiently to feed more people, not protecting the environment.
Land efficiency doesn't necessarily equal sustainability or environmental friendliness. Farms that use pesticides are more efficient than organic farming, might not be better for the environment though. Doesn't the U.S. Produce an excess of food already anyway? Don't they burn crops simply to keep the market value high?

Good point SF. I don't know which place I'd rather live in less tbh. I have encountered a few New Yorkers who proceeded to explain to me that NYC has movie theaters, bars, and restaurants, making it the greatest city on Earth. I didn't even realize what those things were until they told me that. We certainly don't have bars or theaters in FL. Just goes to show how living in a cultured area really opens you up to new experiences.

Another fun fact: while California remains the most hated state for years running, it's also the number one hateful state, ranking the most hate groups. The scary part is that I very much doubt those numbers include anri-white hate groups, which ate legion in that state.

Well... just like every thread I guess.

You're not that far off. Hitler youth were indoctrinated to blame the Jews, humans growing up have been indoctrinated to abuse and hate animals, and laugh at their suffering. Children don't do any of these things until it is shown to them that they should, on the contrary young children almost invariably love animals and consider them friends. It would be unfair to expect immediate change from people indoctrinated in such a society. The hardened heart is most affected by acute moments of suffering and subtle unrelenting truth, in this way the hardness is by degrees broken down and change finally occurs, it is the same with me and you and with everything.

My heart is hardened like a crab shell. Only after being boiled in the waters of love and humanity will it be able to treat crabs as not only our equals, but our betters. We need a crab civil rights movement, led by Shell-son Mandela.
