And? If you open up symbols to interpretation, there’s going to be different interpretations of meaning. What one person sees as old fashioned support of our governmental police forces, another might see cynical exploitation of patriotism mixed with an emotional desire to see those men honored for their service.

If what we really care about is respecting the flag and following those guidelines, let’s be consistent.
