One company is supplying the connection but we get to choose from a list of 22 ISP that they can connect us to. We will only have to pay the ISP. The fiber company gets a % from the ones we choose I guess.
The current solution is an older one, also fiber, but it is owned by the ISP and it is more expensive. We can chose to keep that one if we wish.
I can get internet, TV, Telephone connection or any combination. I only want internet wich leaves me with 103 different plans from 20 different ISPs to choose from.
Sounds like an actual market. Good for you.
Our company recently got a 100/100 fiber direct line from Spectrum. It seems that we're
actually getting more like 50/12ish. But that's cool, because they're the only choice around here, so winning.
My cheapest option is 100/10 Mbit/s for $25/month. 1 month cancellation.
1/1 Gbit/s will cost me $88/month.
I will probably choose 250/100 Mbit/s for $38/month. I will go for the company who's customer service has the best reputation in the gaming community. They also almost always win the speed tests.
I hope you realize how good you’ve got it.
Son of a bitch.

The only reason to need net neutrality is if you live under a crony capitalist corporatacracy.
And if you live under one, net neutrality won’t save you.

Again why are you so eager to get rid of a protection that benefits YOU the consumer?

I thought I'd roll back through here to see if everything is still running smoothly.
Yep. Thank you Trump for saving us from at least one instance of dumbassery and oppression; and the internet is kind of a big deal.

Because it doesn’t.
Net neutrality starts from the false premise that all data is equal.
It’s not.

It's almost as if they're trying to legislate something that they don't understand whatsoever.

More accurate: the only reason your nation would
not have net neutrality is that you live in a crony capitalist corporatacracy.

Ma boy, have you heard the good word of our Lord and savior,
"Responsible Encryption"?
"Old World Blues.' It refers to those so obsessed with the past they can't see the present, much less the future, for what it is. They stare into the what-was...as the realities of their world continue on around them." -Fallout New Vegas
