Pucks on net, especially from the point, Nashville gets it. Weathering the early storm and getting the early lead, good shit.

Two first round picks for the Titans, DeMarco at the Big House on Broadway, and another Smashville win?
Pretty nice weekend.

Smashville looking real good Fife. 13 different goal scorers and that back end is so damn impressive, be hype.

StCapps I told you the Caps were toast. Fleury was amazing keeping the puck out of the net in the first period and taking the wind out of the Caps sails. I'm now going from my original prediction of Pens in 6 to Pens in 5.

The Pens have actually been winning on grit, the shotblocking is their best attribute right now, everybody blocking shots fearlessly, just throwing themselves in front of pucks with abandon, and it all starts at the top with the Captain leading by example.
Cole Harbour has this team coming to the rink with their lunchboxes, hardhats on.

I don't know how Pittsburgh keeps pulling guys like Guentzel out of their ass, but it's impressive. Aside from the first period of Game 2, the shot blocking has been the difference. In game 1, the Caps didn't shoot anywhere near enough and in Game 2 they took too many shots from far away trying to overcompensate and Fleury stood on his head. The wunderwaffen is firing on all cylinders right now, and Captain Canada is leading by example. Considering how mediocre the Pens defense is, it's pretty remarkable how well that back end is playing at the moment without Letang.Smitty-48 wrote:The Pens have actually been winning on grit, the shotblocking is their best attribute right now, everybody blocking shots fearlessly, just throwing themselves in front of pucks with abandon, and it all starts at the top with the Captain leading by example.

Braden Hotlby seems to have stolen Fleury's bad voodoo, and that doesn't help either. At this point I wouldn't be shocked if the Pens swept the Caps, they just seem to be in their heads, it might just be that simple.
PS - It's pretty fucking stupid how the media is constantly putting the blame on Ovechkin and asking when he's going to step up and carry the entire team on his back, when it's clearly the rest of Capitals letting the team down and he's playing great. Just because he isn't playing as good as Crosby is right now though, they got to be fucking assholes about it.
