He nailed it on every level.
He's been painting houses by himself for 35 years, watching and thinking about the problem.
I've made most of those arguments myself.
Many years in that trade.

I think one biggest things we ignore is the impact to Latin America itself by taking so many of their best citizens.Okeefenokee wrote: Sat Aug 04, 2018 10:42 pm

It’s a solid argument. Couple of points though:C-Mag wrote: Sat Aug 04, 2018 10:44 pmI think one biggest things we ignore is the impact to Latin America itself by taking so many of their best citizens.Okeefenokee wrote: Sat Aug 04, 2018 10:42 pm

Or he could just quit, go work for one of those other people hiring illegals for $15/hr for cash "under the table" like they do, and get free healthcare, a free obamaphone, food stamps, and all the other free stuff they'll give him in California. Bet it works out to well over that extra $10/hr, especially without tax on the income.SuburbanFarmer wrote: Sun Aug 05, 2018 4:14 pmIt’s a solid argument. - he should have expanded his business by now. No reason he should be making $25/hr, with that much experience. If he wants to keep doing the work, he could hire a guy to do sales.
- it’s to our advantage, having those ambitious people here.
- a labor glut in menial tasks isn’t really a problem. He could be hiring those guys for cheaper than the jobs pay. It’s honestly his own fault that he’s stuck.
