Re: North Korea News
Even with the bunker, eventually you run out of water and die of thirst anyways, pick your poison, there's no good options except instant death.
WWIII countervalue exchange, you're dead man walking, it's a just a matter of how long and how painful the death.

Not sure that's true, anyway. People survive anything, and would.Smitty-48 wrote:But tru.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Sad!Smitty-48 wrote:
You'll just watch your kids die in agony, better for them to be vaporized instantly than to die by fallout.
Children are the most vulnerable, they'll be the first ones to go by fallout, you'd be doing them a favour if you just put them down yourself before it got to that.
If you're in the fallout zone, it's already too late, you'd need a full on hermetically sealed bunker with CRBN filtration system, and I'm betting you don't got one, nor even anything close.
I've heard that most of it would be dissapated within a week or so. You just drive out and abandon the homestead for a while. Some will give up and kill themselves. Others will carry on, without the weak. Until the kids are all dead, it ain't over.

I have one, but I'm not letting you use it, or anyone on here for that matter. I could have overlooked the no gifts for my birthday, but when christmas rolled around I didn't get anything from the forum either. Why would I let anyone on my ark who is that selfish?Smitty-48 wrote:But tru.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Sad!Smitty-48 wrote:

You're not going to dissipate a WWIII countervalue exchange, there's nowhere to go; you're where, in Ohio? You're toast, guy, it's just a matter of quick, or prolonged and painful.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Not sure that's true, anyway. Hardly. I'm right under the jetstream, slick. The only way I get a heavy exposure is if they bomb the living shit out of Toledo. There's a couple of NASA research facilities around here, and that's it. The east coast can get vaporized, and I'll watch it from my armchair.Smitty-48 wrote:You're not going to dissipate a WWIII countervalue exchange, there's nowhere to go; you're where, in Ohio? If you do think it's coming and you want a viable survival option, you have to move before it happens, and not just out of Ohio, not just out of the CONUS, but right out of the northern hemisphere.
I've told you before, I'll tell you again; safest place in the event of nuclear war, is Ciudad del Este in Paraguay; move now.

I'll get on that.Smitty-48 wrote:If you do think it's coming and you want a viable survival option, you have to move before it happens, and not just out of Ohio, not just out of the CONUS, but right out of the northern hemisphere.

I don't think nuke war is all that likely, it's just not nearly as UNlikely as it used to be. Large-scale conventional war is almost guaranteed to occur soon, but I have trouble believing that anyone is stupid enough to push the Big Red Button.
My real concern has been, and remains, economic upheaval.

Doesn't even have to be countervalue for Ohio to be a radioactive wasteland, even a limited counterforce strike on the US bases on the Great Plains, sends a plume five states wide at you, with your state right in the middle of it.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Hardly. Silliness. It might cause some cancer down the road, but nobody's dying short-term from fallout multiple states away.Smitty-48 wrote:Doesn't even have to be countervalue for Ohio to be a radioactive wasteland, even a limited counterforce strike on the US bases on the Great Plains, sends a plume five states wide at you, with your state right in the middle of it.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Hardly. More to the point, I'm curious how that would interact with the Yellowstone supervolcano..

Mismanaged economies have certainly killed more people than nukes.GrumpyCatFace wrote:

And by mismanaged I mean anything less efficient than market pricing.
