Many democratic societies have been non-collectivist (Ancient Athens). Many collectivist societies have been non-democratic (communism).
Certainly any time the demos (people) are empowered to make decisions, those decisions represent the will of a collective.

That is bullshit. This dumb black lady with no insurance (probably on every govt program btw.) had a better car then me and hit mine. My car was a piece of shit, but worked well. I got a check for $300. You know what kind of car you can buy for $300? A non existent one. If you want to drive, then you need to have a way for paying for other people's shit you damage. To say nothing of the numerous health injures you can cause others to have when you hit them. If the guy with a $100K car gets paralyzed by the 2k car guy, and the poor man doesn't have insurance we really have a fucking problem. I make dogshit and I still pay my car insurance. I don't want to hear some pauper's sob story about why they get to damage my property and not pay. If you are too irresponsible to pay car insurance, you don't drive. End of story. Let these morons walk to the welfare office. They certainly aren't using their cars for any productive activities as far as I can tell.

I bullshit around on here a lot, but I got fucking hit two times in the last year. The first time was in November. This bitch who hit me didn't have a fucking license or a grasp on English. The second time I got tboned in April. This lady didn't have fucking insurance, yet she drove a nicer car than me. I got a check for $300 from my insurance company. That happened. I am still angry about this. Neither of them got arrested. My car wasn't great, but it got totaled the second time. In what world is it reasonable for someone to do this to me and not have to suffer any consequences whatsoever? I don't like how high my insurance premiums are, and I promise you that I feel the bite of paying them far more than you do, but I still fucking pay them. If some idiot hit your wife or child, ruined their car, and put them in a fucking wheelchair, I'll bet you'd be pretty pissed if they didn't have insurance. This isn't Occupy Wall Street. Its a simple case of shitty people doing shitty things. I am still in the hole financially paying off a new car 7 months later. This was and is a big deal.

I'm not rich like you Martin. My car is hands down the most valuable thing I own. It is important to me that it runs properly, gets me to work, and gets me home. I take that shit seriously, and spend a fortune on maintenence and insurance. I take it personally when others destroy my most valuable possession and don't give enough of a shit to cover the damage.
