Fat guys definitely have the advantage in the cold, not just insulation, but they got fat stores to burn, since cold burns calories at an exponential rate, so that is the downside of being lean and mean, what you gotta do is take in a lot of calories in the extreme cold, enter; seal blubber.

Yeah, I am a lot leaner now. I still have 10-15 lbs to lose before I am where I want to be, but I could always go the other way and just build as much muscle in hypertrophy training to get to 10% body fat as well. I haven't decided exactly what I should do about that.

That might also have played a factor here. But I do think the inflammation had a big role. I was born and raised in Florida, after all. It never made any damned sense that I could walk around in the freezing cold in shorts and t-shirts like it was nothing.

When you're in rifle company, you gotta lotta squeaky toys slowing you down, when you get to recce platoon, it's iron men all, that's what made it so fun.

Or, technically, I could lose about 8 lbs of fat and gain about 10 lbs of muscle and pretty much be where I want to be.

When you are on the flight line, you must embrace the suck. It's 0300, and it's -20F. You need to get those jets fixed by dawn's early light, cupcake.

Fucking high plains desert winds freezing your damned nuts up into your liver. It's pretty fucked up in hindsight.

Smokin' and jokin', laughin' and scratchin', the tougher the assignment, the higher the morale, recce owns the night, and has a ball doing it.
