Leafs just getting beat by the better team here, they talk about "measuring stick" games, well the stick here simply says you got a long way to go before you can handle a heavy team like Pitt when they're on their game, heaviest team in the East, no doubt.

The kids go fast, but they don't play heavy, and the rare who is heavy on the Leafs, is too slow.

Still a few pieces away, not one or two tho, more like three or four, they need three or four more heavies, in all the right places.

Zaitsev tho, he's not a top four right now, no sense pretending that he is, whether he can get it together is to be seen, they're stuck with him for now, but man, is ever fuckin' pathetic, weakest link in the chain.

It's like the GM of the Canucks, Jim Benning, back when he played for the Leafs he was my dads whipping boy, I can hear my dad now; "Ah, Benning!". . . "Fer fucks sakes, Benning!" . . . "Ah, fuck you, Benning!"

That's who Zaitsev is right now; Benning.

Right now he just looks like a KHL player who wasn't drafted, for a reason, and now he's just in over his head trying to play top four in the show. He seems to have the raw skills, but when it comes to jam, hockey IQ, and poise under pressure, he's like a deer in the headlights out there.

The Advanced Stats Nerds are coming out today and saying "No chance Glendening is coming to the Leafs, that's a totally unrealistic scenario, and besides, the Leafs have Komarov to play 4C", Komarov at 4C being an ASN obsession, ignoring the fact that he doesn't actually play center 5 on 5 and with good reason.

But then they come out right after and say "But you know who is coming to the Leafs? Chris Tanev!"

Lulz, Advanced Stats Nerds live in their own little worlds. Not saying that the Leafs can pry Glendening, because he's actually rather useful and on a cheap contract, but the idea that Glendening is totally unrealistic, but Vancouver is sure to hand Tanev over, talk about ASN wishful thinking.

Fuckin' Millennials, they approach hockey the way they approach everything else in life, nerdy, and delusional.

Guess who's back? Back again, MacKinnon is back, Tell a friend.
Jost with a sweet snipe too 1-0, he's a keeper.

That's good, a minor shoulder sprain then, no surgery, no problem. If it was serious, he wouldn't be back to full contact this soon.

Yeah the injury looked worse than it was, thanks hockey gods, we could use it.

Looked like he just jammed it, they were probably just being ultra cautious with the franchise.

Yeah, definitely seems like that was the case, hence the initial reports that he might not be out that long surfacing, but then they decided, why risk it, keep him out just to make sure he's good to go for a run at the playoffs.

Also check out that Jost goal, what a release, shades of Sakic right there, top of the circle snipe show, don't think he's going to have any problems being a productive scorer in the NHL, that was a thing of beauty.

He was probably fine after a week or so, but as you say, it's not the playoffs, and they didn't spiral down without him, so no need to risk pushing the envelope.

As for Jost, you don't have to sell me on Jost, I've seen him coming from when he was scoring 104 points with Penticton.

I mean, here he was here, he was kind of like mini-Johnny Toews. . .
