I am about 2/3 through the Ready Player One audiobook. This novel is a masterpiece.

DB, you need to get this.

I'll pick it up.
I have a couple Audible credits kicking around, and it looks like a load of free time coming in August.

Fans of the book are reasonably concerned about the the Spielberg production. It's a hefty trust.

The advance trailer came out at the SD Comic-Con.

OK, I made the Saturday matinee just after lunch with a couple of nerdy friends.

Thankfully we stopped off for some chicken wings and a couple of stiff belts beforehand at the Chotchkie's next door to the movies.

Anybody else seen the new flick yet?

Meh. It's a Spielberg production.

Here's a tip about the soundtrack and the content:

The only VH song was Jump. There was zero Rush. OK, there was a poster shot of the 2112 cover, during a totally limp anti-climax, but ZERO otherwise.

The only video game shown in the movie was about 30 seconds of Adventure on Atari 2600.

Wade Watts decided to give away 80% of the OASIS ( 20% to an 11 year old, who didn't do shit towards defeating the Suxxors (who were just called IOI in the movie)).

My daughter saw it, said it was entertaining, but nothing happens, basically an entire movie setting up a giant battle to come.

Yeah, with the hype all around this film it was a bit underwhelming also a lot of people are saying that the deaths won't stick by the end of the second movie (which sounds like a typical Marvel thing to do). Also, they changed Thanos' original motivation from the comics to something that I thought was totally stupid (tiring to "save" the overpopulated universe).
