If you're good with your hands and have access to some basic tools, do like Jörg Sprave. This is a a video where he makes a regular slingshot. He has lot's of variants of this one. For rubber he mostly uses latex exercise rubber bands. Search for TheraBand Gold.



Or make a pvc blowgun. They are enough to hunt small game. It's all about the ammo. Here's a good instruction video:
