Meme warfare actually goes back to the Cold War what with Dan's tired "Blue Jeans and Rock & Roll," meme. It started getting weaponized during the Information Age back when people used fax machines and certain memetic warfare departments were "hacking" USSR fax machines to print out pro western propaganda such as "if communism is so great why are you shooting people that try to leave," etc.

Memes are actually a fascinating thing that even merits its own bull shit major in "higher education." To discredit them is simply willfully ignorant imho.

Especially in light of the fact we are dealing with sixth generation warfare and the pentagon is only aware of the fourth and really sucks at that.

Concern trolling is or isn't a thing? Or it is a thing, but also a meme, and shouldn't count?
I haven't argued anything other than that Hwen's personal dislike of the ideas inherent to any meme which conveys said idea successfully to the masses, is of no consequence, because as long as the meme does so, Hwen's opinion of it, is nether here nor there, and, that as long as a meme is not being employed evidentiary to prove an argument in good faith, the fact that it may indeed be reductive, is irrelevant, because one is not bound by logic to prove a meme in of itself.

I think we all understand what concern trolling is. It's a favored tactic on the chans along with purity spiraling.

In fact I would argue that memes are in fact as old as language.

It was a favourite tactic on the DCF, but we just called it "undercover hack bitching", someone who professes to not be partisan and that they are open to being convinced, but who is in fact just concern trolling, often as part of their virtue signalling purity spiral.

AFAIK, memes are expressions of common thoughts or something like that. Seems to be that they are as old as consciousness.
