It's funny, I'd have expected many of you guys to go the other way and rail against requiring auto insurance as a symptom of 'big government' and the fall of civilization.

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

A guy drives a $2K used car but he has to buy insurance for the people with $100K cars. Who’s subsidizing who?

The 48% of us working and not taking government subsidies are subsidizing the other 52% of us.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 11:29 amA guy drives a $2K used car but he has to buy insurance for the people with $100K cars. Who’s subsidizing who?
Which one is the guy driving the $2k car?

$1K deductible, can the guy with a $2K car get another one? How about the guy in the $100K car?

Liability is a rich man's game. (There's a bail discussion going on that is the same issue.)

All this stuff falls under the same umbrella as Flat-Taxers logic: rich people pay too much, poor people don't pay enough.

Damn.
We need to find some way to punish the rich and discourage the accumulation of wealth.
If the unemployed gibs honkey with his $2k car isn't getting the same rewards as the $100k car driver (who is being taxed at nearly 30%) then clearly the system has failed us.
Equality at all costs.
Remember comrades, we're all equals in the Gulag.

"Another glorious morning with the hammer and the rock"
"Aye comrade. Shit is FAIR as FUCK"
Nothing more equal than two slaves toiling under a gun.
To be fair though, at least that first guy with the hammer isn't subsidizing the second guy's expensive car.
And the hammer guy with the expensive car isn't subsidizing every damn aspect of the other guy's life.

It's tough to promote liberty to the populists when the 1% exploit it so much.
