I don't think the Av's are gonna make it, that's not an embellishment, that's just my prediction based on the law of averages and the division they are in.

You need to check the standings again, the teams in the wild card spots are likely to finish with a worse record than the Avs. The Avs are on pace for a 97 point season, and you think their chances are that bad? Think again.Smitty-48 wrote:I don't think the Av's are gonna make it, that's not an embellishment, that's just my prediction based on the law of averages and the division they are in.

The Avs have won 7 in a row, that's a hot streak, but that still has them out by three spots, they won't keep this pace up, there will be a losing streak to balance it out, and the Av's wll sink back down again.

Games in hand, you are not factoring that in.Smitty-48 wrote:The Avs have one 7 in a row, that's a hot streak, but that still has them out by three spots, they won't keep this pace up, there will be a losing streak to balance it out, and the Av's wll sink back down again.
97 point pace, and they are getting better as the season goes, it's not just a hot streak.

But you're banking on a pace based on the last seven games, their overall pace has them missing, you don't judge a team by their winning streaks, it all evens out, they're not really gonna finish with 97 points, you're just blowing sunshine up your own ass.StCapps wrote:You need to check the standings again, the teams in the wild card spots are likely to finish with a worse record than the Avs. The Avs are on pace for a 97 point season, and you think their chances are that bad? So they only finish with 94 or some shit, they still probably make the playoffs.Smitty-48 wrote:But you're banking on a pace based on the last seven games, their overall pace has them missing, you don't judge a team by their winning streaks, it all evens out, they're not really gonna finish with 97 points, you're just blowing sunshine up your own ass.StCapps wrote:You need to check the standings again, the teams in the wild card spots are likely to finish with a worse record than the Avs. The Avs are on pace for a 97 point season, and you think their chances are that bad? Don't have to be that fast, just have to do better than the Dallas's, Minnesota's, Calgary's and Chicago's of the league, not that hard, don't sleep.

I predict that they don't, I predict that the Avs will miss, and they'll end up with less than 90 points.

I also predict that MacKinnon will fade down the stretch and Kucherov will leave him in the dust.

Re: NHL 2017-2018
Less than 90 points, would take some real bad goaltending luck to finish that poorly, totally possible, but that's not the most likely outcome from where I am sitting. 91-95 points, that sounds more reasonable to me, we can score our way out of trouble.Smitty-48 wrote:I predict that they don't, I predict that the Avs will miss, and they'll end up with less than 90 points.

That's possible, he does have way more help and all. Kucherov could widen the current gap, but note MacKinnon has games in hand, and he's being dragged down by a slow start to the season.Smitty-48 wrote:I also predict that MacKinnon will fade down the stretch and Kucherov will leave him in the dust.
