It's like this: if you think a reasonable position is X and the media claims it's X+3, you might just go along to get along and say, "sure, X+3 is right". When the media says it's now X+75, you're going to realize "no, fuck that, now it's X-2 permanently." The cord gets permanently snapped at some point and you're free.

It was like that for me and trannies and BLM at least. I used to be quite the lefty, then the left went ten steps too far and threatened to go another 1,000 and I said fuck this I'm out.
