How did we wind up in this situation, where the judicial systems feels entitled to declare open-borders America forever, and “fuck what the president says”?!?!
2) you assume the only thing keeping families from having lots of kids is government policy. The reality is that the more educated the populace, the lower the birthrate. [Directly related to the increase in cost of living - both parents have to have $100K+ jobs to provide a true middle class life for a family - most never reach that.]
3) you assume that it’s easier for immigrants to raise children than you. If you lower your standards considerably, it will be just as ‘easy’ for you to raise children. I hope we raise our standards, not lower them. [what happens to society when the professional class finally says "fuck it - I quit" ?]
#2 response still has nothing to do with birthrate. People don’t want double the number of kids at any higher income or educational level. If you gave us a pile of money, I still wouldn’t want a ton of kids and I’m a pretty average parent. Replacement level seems to be pretty de rigeur.
#3 response, you live in one of the most expensive states in the country, which has made bad policy choices for generations (just like NJ). I would argue that it’s not just the money that’s making professionals flee CT. If New Haven and Hartford had followed Boston’s lead, people would stay. They’re not fleeing Greenwich afaik because that’s functionally greater NY. And none of this has anything to do with immigration (outside of the h1b visas).
You sound like you’re not up to date on the current makeup of the SCOTUS or the number of federal judges Trump is appointing and can appoint - a source of dire concern to Democrats.
This isn’t as simple as “point to the last president you didn’t like”. This idea that America has no right to prevent anyone from entering, ever, is deeply ingrained in our current system and I find it highly unlikely that one president is responsible for all of it.

The fact that 99% of Americans live more materially wealth lives than 99% of all humans ever... and yet are discontent tells me this problem is unlikely to be solved by $$$.
On the other hand, the tribalists have some valid points... those valid points aren't applicable to a group as large as 300,000,000 souls though.
