Do you think whites are oppressing poor urban minorities with sabotaged bridges??

Will that somehow prove that the buck doesn't deserve to stop with the particular designers and builders of this bridge?Okeefenokee wrote:Share your vast experience with government contractors, then.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:A family owned and run private contracting company fucks up a bridge, and the response is to blame:

We should probably get the state out of the public works game in general, and let the market determine where we put our pedestrian toll-bridges of the future.DBTrek wrote:Not assigning blame, just talking government contracting. Though obviously, the government contractors in this case did a substandard job.
Or is that also debatable to HM, Protector of All Things Government?
It roughly translates to "person who lacks a work ethic." In this context, it connotes irony. Example: "The musciad talks about people looking for work like he's got three jobs."Speaker to Animals wrote:MilSpecs wrote:Says the musciad.Speaker to Animals wrote:When I maintained fighter jets and would have to order parts from a supplier, I skipped right the fuck over those affirmative action designations for the next on the list.
I'm sorry, princess. Was that one of your gibserations?
The designers and builders of the bridge were government contractors. That's what I said. The group of us here have many years of direct experience between us working with government contractors.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:Will that somehow prove that the buck doesn't deserve to stop with the particular designers and builders of this bridge?Okeefenokee wrote:Share your vast experience with government contractors, then.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:A family owned and run private contracting company fucks up a bridge, and the response is to blame:

But it has little to do with affirmative action or minorities. The people who build infrastructure are often just connected. They're more about no-show jobs than outright incompetence.Okeefenokee wrote:The designers and builders of the bridge were government contractors. That's what I said. There's a different standard when you're working for the government. It's a standard that would never fly for a private business.
Think about this, while that bridge was being built, city building inspectors were all over town hassling private builders over residential building codes.
They weren't working for the government, they were private business contracted by the government, and they fucked up the contract. Lockheed is a 'government contractor,' pretty sure it is still a private, for-profit company.Okeefenokee wrote:The designers and builders of the bridge were government contractors. I know, personally, what the words 'government contractor' mean, and clearly, you do not.Okeefenokee wrote:Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:They weren't working for the government, they were private business contracted by the government, and they fucked up the contract. Tell us what you know about it, personally, or shut the fuck up.
