Something noble about an old man reclining in his lazy boy being a letcher in front of his woman. Not even kidding.
I think you described every grandpa out there until about 10 years ago.

It's supposed to be Maverick carrying the dead Goose. Ejected into the canopy. Wasn't Viper the instructor that Maverick chased below the hard deck?

Well, the first photo seems to be a shot of a test of a Saab Gripen egress system. Completely wrong airframe. Not even the right country. Second shot is Mav holding Goose's dead body (which wouldn't really be possible if Goose slammed against the canopy like that. They wouldn't likely splash anywhere near each other, and it's not like a dead guy is going to swim to your location or fire a flare so you can find each other.

Of course, it's supposed to be the Navy, so I guess it's supposed to be gay from the start.

There was a pilot in my old squadron who actually had something like that happen in another unit. WSO didn't survive. Pilot was a mess, requiring a lot of rehab work. He eventually recovered and went back up. Very safety-conscious. Nice guy.

edit:

Top Gun is not nearly as gay as Iron Eagle, so it's not like I can talk much trash here.

Okay, so why are women and men's curling on two different teams.

I defer to your expertise. My post was only to give pictures to Monty's attempted virtue signal post and Clubby's post pointing out how it was a crash and burn. It brought to mind Goose going through the glass and Maverick cradling a lifeless corpse in the open ocean. Never intended to represent reality.

Same reason why women never compete directly with men in a sporting context. Women need to win too.
