You gave an example that demonstrates exactly what the rest of us are saying. What happened to that QB sent a clear signal to men that the courts will *not* recognize their human rights even when the law clearly justifies them.

You for God damned well know that, had the initial aggressor been another male, it wouldn't be QB stewing in lockup for ten days because he was not the initial aggressor and he acted in self-defense

The consequences of the double standard, aside from making a mockery of the constitution and rule of law, is for men to decide to take the abuse for fear of being locked up and socially ruined in addition to being victims of domestic abuse. If he wanted to bring charges I don't see why he couldn't, but I imagine his attorney probably told him just to let it go because continued media exposure would be bad for his career.
