Why does he have to dirty everything he touches? My son is an Eagle Scout, we looked past the public issues the scouts have had and saw the good. The Scouts have tried hard to bring themselves into the modern world and not be viewed as a reactionary old guard institution. This abuse of trust and good faith is as disgusting.
Trump would start to talk about himself and present politics if he was giving an eulogy in a funeral as the President of the US.
Trump is the 70-year old petulant grandpa that he is and as it's televised, he's speaking to his supporters. Who cares about the actual people / children in front of him. He doesn't. The politics part is typical Trump, and actually the "President giving an inspiring story to children"-part is classic Trump too:
TRUMP: ...And he went out and bought a big yacht, and he had a very interesting life. I won’t go any more than that because you’re Boy Scouts, so I’m not going to tell you what he did.
AUDIENCE: Booo --
TRUMP: Should I tell you? Should I tell you?
AUDIENCE: Yes!
TRUMP: Oh, you’re Boy Scouts, but you know life. You know life. So -- look at you. Who would think this is the Boy Scouts, right?
