Personally, they should have done this with an all white cast and a black officer to really drive home the point. Morgan Freeman as the Commanding Officer, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as the NCO's, then we could have women play all the parts of the privates. If the intent were to focus on the setting, then they'd just make a movie about any group or many groups.
