I was usually with the bouncer or the guy who sold coke in the afterhours. I spent half my young adulthood playing the machines in those places - handed a bunch of cash and basically told to go amuse myself for an hour or so "and then I swear we're leaving!" I get the feeling you were on the other side of that equation.
