That's what I think too, but some of the journalism is just so bad:

• A gunman killed at least 58 people and injured 515 others on the Las Vegas Strip late Sunday night.
  It is the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
  A man identified by the police as Stephen Paddock, 64, fired from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
  The gunman opened fire on concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival.
  A SWAT team stormed his room, but found Paddock already dead.
  President Donald Trump tweeted his "warmest condolences" to victims.

At least 58 people were killed and more than 515 were injured Sunday night in Las Vegas in the deadliest shooting in modern US history.

A gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, aiming into a tightly packed crowd of thousands below who were attending a country music festival.

. . . kinda makes it sound like the shooter killed and injured them all.
Depending on the number of rounds fired, it doesn't seem impossible. Dump a thousand rounds onto crowded pavement and those that don't kill will still ricochet and injure. But at this point I think they're probably counting all injuries, whether directly inflicted by the gunman or not.

I clicked on the link and a pop up advert for funeral services insurance appeared.

The two largest arms companies have seen a rise in share prices ahead of the expected rise in gun sales which follow these types of attack so it's not all bad news. Let's see if the 30 million dollars of donations to the GOP from the gun lobby last year is enough to buy Donald's compliance.

Vegas Hotels and Casinos have more security than any other in the US. How did this guy get 10 guns and ammo, into a room ?
Yeah, it's probably doable in big duffles or something. But wouldn't it be odd for someone making multiple trips ?
