Pardon =/= dismissal ("overturned")

Pardon > dismissal

SCOTUS doesn't have the power to pardon.

POTUS has no power to overturn a conviction (dismiss a prosecution).

You don't have to take my word for it; its right in there, Art. II, Sec. 2, cl. 1.

The President...shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

The act of pardoning Ali is a difference of type, not degree, from dismissing the case against him, for whatever reason.

But, if all you need is the twitter and the MSM to get your legal and political analysis, go right ahead. I'm sure it's all just a racist plot to actually go back and convict Ali, dig him up, and put him in stocks for public ridicule. Or something.

Pardons are different than dismissal of prosecution (before or after conviction at trial). Different, as in "not the same thing."

You're always so helpful. His conviction prevented him from fighting. When it was overturned, he was allowed to fight. If he's still guilty of a crime, why was he allowed to fight and what's the point of overturning anything?
