Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
Why would it be pursued as a “campaign contribution”, and not prostitution charges??
If I have my lawyer pay off my hooker, is it legal?

Hush money is not against the law.
Nor do hookers make $100k a shag.

Your concern should be how Trump coerced and used Tom Brady as a leg breaker, threatening Stormy to stay quiet.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Why would it be pursued as a “campaign contribution”, and not prostitution charges??

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
You’re missing a huge chunk of context: Trump has been working with organized crime for many decades (and I’m actually not slamming him for it - he could not have built anything at that time in that place without doing so). This is how a consigliere works in that world; they funnel money. The FBI has been going after these people forever. If you completely took the presidency out of the equation it would be equally obvious what was going on and law enforcement would respond in the same way. I’m also not excusing Clinton for any bad actions - I’m pointing out a long established pattern of action and legal response, but this time the ramifications are different because it’s actually illegal to funnel money in this way (undeclared campaign contributions). This was blatant. Seriously, a lawyer with very few clients, chief of whom is a billionaire, gives a few hundred thousand dollar payoff out of the goodness of his heart? What’s next, the money fell off a truck?nmoore63 wrote: Its also possible that much money could be interpreted as a taxable gift to Trump that should have been disclosed, and so Al Capone style tax evasion.
But the glaring hypocrisy of how Hillary was allowed to turn over whatever she deemed appropriate versus raiding the lawyer and taking everything then the government deciding what should be seen... all while forcibly disclosing other unrelated client relationships...
To put it quite simply, its completely arbitrary, byzantine law.

Trump has been very honest about paying off the Don's he needs to pay off to get things done, including the politicians.

It is actually illegal to funnel the money to Clinton in the same way as well. But to the point, people pay off folks to not talk about sex all the time. Its not illegal. Based on how fucked up the corruption laws are in the country, I think you will have a very difficult time proving it was specifically for the campaign rather than simply general not wanting porn star sex to come up.
