I've checked some Chinese eBay sellers the past few weeks... Three weeks ago they mostly all said "on vacation until Feb 3rd"... Then the quarantines and it was either the 10th or the 14th (yesterday or Friday)... Now I'm seeing some that say "on vacation" until the 21st.
I'm wondering how many might end up on permanent vacation?

Maybe as a group of people they need an authoritarian regime to clean up. What if what we see now really is the cleaned up version of what the Chinese people could be? What if the communist government is doing the best they can with what they had to work with?
It’s really easy to project our European nature onto the rest of the world, and that actually is the cause of so many of our overseas follies. They aren't us. At some point we have to just accept the other peoples of the world are pretty fucked up by our common standard.
More authoritarianism for China, plz. I want a new dynasty not run by Commies.
