Are we sure that has to be climate change? I mean, it could be, but did any scientist actual properly predict fewer and more raging hurricanes?

Find this source, and you have a leg to stand on, otherwise, everyone is just gonna reveal their biases. Not being a dick, was this anyone's hypothesis?
They've been predicting that for over a decade.

Inconvenient Truth would be the simplest way to see it, but this has been the theme all along.
Al predicted fewer hurricanes?

I stand corrected, I thought everyone predicted more hurricanes.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO It's a totally normal "500-year-storm" that just came out of nowhere (10 years after the last "100 year storm").

We can expect a "2,000-year-storm" somewhere around 2028, I think...
Do people really have that short of an attention span?

Also, let's be real here, We are so under the norm when it comes to hurricanes hitting the US this decade, it's ridiculous.

Now look up the stats for Major Hurricanes (cat 3+).
Oh please, make my point even more so...

In 2010's so far we have only had one cat 3+ (Based off of NOAA's info)

Since they have been recording since 1850's, there have been 99 Cat 3+ hurricanes that have hit the US, out of a total of 289 hurricanes. That means 34.25% of all the hurricanes that have hit the US have been Cat 3+ based off of NOAA's info.

More intense storms, yes.

Stop it, stop proving my point for me, I am asking in good faith, did anyone predict LESS hurricanes?

I have no position of any of this, no expertise, little to offer, so it seems to me that we are possibly having more intense storms, BUT FIND ME A PREDICTION OF LESS YET MORE INTENSE HURRICANES.

Without that hypothesis, we are discarding the scientific method in favor of ideology, aren't we?

MAybe someone did predict it, would really like to see it.

I just gave you 3 sources, actually calling for fewer hurricanes overall. If you're not even going to look, then don't ask the question.

You would be an abysmal attorney, I took your word that, after I asked for frequency, you offered evidence of intensity.

Answer this without squirming away: when I asked for frequency, why reply with "more intense storms, yes"?

Meh. I'm not invested in this. Nature gives no fucks whether you believe it, and it's not going to change anyway.

A brief search confirms my own memory of how this played out over the past fifteen years. Climate scientists were not predicting more hurricanes (though nonsense peddlers on television fake news were certainly saying that). Instead, climate scientists predicted that the worst storms would become stronger, I suppose because of the assumption that warmer ocean temperatures would spawn stronger hurricanes.

Here's a National Geographic article from 2005 that makes this case:

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... rming.html

If the data presented above is to be believe, climate scientists may have won this particular issue, though I am not sure how they could explain there being less hurricanes over all.
