You know the sad thing is that Trump could have done it. Yep, he would have made the GOP angry, but what else would be new?

If he simply would have faced basically the lobbyists controlling the GOP and uh... gotten democrat support. Somebody like Trump could sell universal health care to Republican voters where Obama was simply a socialist in their eyes. It truly would have been quite a Jacksonian move.

A conservative politician can actually implement left-leaning ideas as a majority of his party supporters will be OK just that the party is in power. Far more difficult for a left-leaning party to implement something that can be said to be socialist.

But what happened? Seems like Trump just gave Ryan and the standard GOPsters to do this, and faces now the consequences.

Yep, 14-24 million losing coverage doesn't fit well with the campaign talk given earlier.

Very true. I'd be his biggest fan for pulling off something like that, too.

Sadly, this was never going to be an actual 'swamp-draining'. That was just the marketing pitch.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

Waiting on sixty votes for something workable. Ryancare flopped on it's face and that's good because it sucked.

Anyway, I predict nothing will get sixty votes. Not until they establish the narrative that Trump is a legislative failure. Maybe after they do that, some shitty amendments will be passed.

Hopefully I'm wrong though.

That's the two things that Trump would have made a solid base of support for himself: Go for universal health care and drain the swamp, go against the Wall Street fat cats.

Heck, then he could come out and say "Oh yes, I asked Vlad to get some facts out about Hillary, and he didn't dissappoint!"

And people would be OK with that... Likely the impeachment thing would end up as harmless like it did with Bill Clinton.

I'm still waiting for Trump to do something so I can have an opinion.

He might be planning on a repeal coupled with an expansion of Medicare to cover the uninsured.

If he did that he could just stop and I'd be satisfied.

That's all we really ever had to do.

That's why I say all this Obamacare and Ryancare are just Bullshit, designed as a vector for them to get the types of programs and control they want.
Burn it down.

Yes.

There was a public option that treated Medicare like another insurance plan you could enroll in taken out of the Obamacare legislation, as well as attempts to either just add everyone to Medicare, or maybe another form of the public option. The Sainted President Obama, himself, nixed not only any attempt to just expand Medicare, but adding any kind of public option like Medicare to Obamacare.

Also Obamacare is just a form of Romneycare, which is something the Conservative/Libertarian Cato Institute proposed.

Just some of the reasons I think calling the Democratic Party "liberal" and the Republican Party "conservative" akin to lying. There are some good people in them, but the parties have become criminal organizations, not political parties.

Mittens

This is where all us Plebes can come to an agreement against the Senators in their Togas. The Senators are giving us something that will expand their power and war chests. We need to Flatly reject both Obamacare and Ryancare.

Trump did an interview tonight, he basically said Ryancare in its current form will not pass into law, votes aren't there. So there will be negotiating.
