Re: Trump's SCOTUS
Another bullet point list article, this one about the first day of questions yesterday:
4 Worst Moments For Democrats From Their Judicial Hearings on Gorsuch
1. Democrats did not shut up about Merrick Garland
2. Sen. Dianne Feinstein beat the straw man on "originalism"
3. Feinstein and Franken Complained About Gorsuch's Opposition To The Chevron Rule
4. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) Slams The Second Amendment
Seems about right, so far.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
I think we are about to see that there are at least two kinds of Senate democrats.
There's the obvious lo-info kind, standing safely before a locally lo-info electorate:
Kamala Harris Won’t Vote For Gorsuch Because He Rules With The Law Not Feelings
Judge Gorsuch has consistently valued narrow legalisms over real lives. I must do what’s right. I cannot support his nomination.
As for the other kind, and as mentioned earlier, I'm interested to see how pliable Chuckles finds the senators who are up for re-election in Trump states next year.
Say what you want about the NRA, everyone better believe that an NRA score means something in places like Florida, North Dakota, Indiana, Missouri, Montana, and even Wisconsin and Michigan.
NRA will target Democrats who vote against Gorsuch
Have the B-29s ready to scramble.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
I'm guessing it's more bullshit. With no Democratic support, Gorsuch nomination may usher in ‘nuclear option’
Currently it takes 60 senators to overcome a filibuster of a Supreme Court pick. Republicans hold a narrow 52-to-48 majority in the Senate, requiring at least eight Democrats to join with Republicans to block a filibuster, and no Democratic senator has announced plans to back Gorsuch.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
The idea that Gorsuch has "no" Democrat support is folly. The fault line of 60 votes is in play, however, big time. There is no way to predict if another SCOTUS seat comes up before the 2018 Senate elections, but the chance that it may is bearing down on quite a few of these red state D Senators desperate to hold on to their phoney-baloney "jobs."
