Now that we all agree that both parties are happily shredding the Bill of Rights, what do we do about?

I can go to plenty of site of whatever bent, or talk to people all day long agreeing that our rights, our economy wellbeing of ourselves, and our children, are going bye-bye, but finding solutions is the problem.

Finding solutions is only a problem because the politicians know that if they just keep jingling keys (abortion, gay marriage, etc.,) the proles will focus on what's not important instead of the true problems. The sexy issues get attention.

If we, the people, focused more on what we have in common, we'd probably be able to turn over the house & senate. If they weren't so cushy in their jobs, they'd work harder to accomplish something.

Not a whole lot of reason to focus on what we have in common. Whichever side does that is going to be blindsided by the other on the issues where we don't agree. The minute the right turns it's attention away from it's own issues, and towards central issues, is the minute the left will take advantage and open up both barrels on right issues, and vice versa. Neither side sees central issues as being as important as their own issues. We can find common ground on the drug war, but the left is never going to stop going after guns. We focus our efforts on what is important, and what is left can go towards the middle.

Get used to it. We are two incompatible cultures. There cannot be reconciliation between the two. The left has vastly expanded the reach of it's culture over the last century, but that momentum is being halted. The pendulum is about to swing the other way.

No, it means not everyone gets their way. We've only been doing it for ten thousand years.

Civil wars are probably not an example of diplomacy, compromise, and collaboration working as intended. Best avoided when possible.

The current schisms in our society is partly a creation of the political, and wealthy, classes. It been a consistent tactic of business/political/security at both federal, and state, levels and for centuries to create conflict if it does not already exist, and strengthen them when it does.

That does not mean there are no real differences, or conflicts, but rather that the hopelessness you see is the creation of those who want you to feel separate from other Americans. That gives them more power, and everyone else less.
