Interesting look at how China manages a banking crisis.

April - some rural banks declare all deposits frozen while they ‘upgrade their systems’.

No communication for 3 months.

July - depositors show up demanding their money. Government says ‘disperse or be fined’.
An hour later, they send in plain-clothes riot busters.

Clumsy but useful as a possible preview for us.

Another sign that life is going to get harder and worse.

Bought a microwave a few weeks ago from a local appliance dealer. used them for years. Always came out to service our appliances.

Dark days sign #1. 2 week old microwave no longer heats anything.
Dark days #2. Called dealer for service. They recent closed their service department because they can't find technicians (never mentioned that when we purchased the microwave). They recommend calling the manufacturer.
Dark days sign #3. Never got a real person on the phone. When scheduling a CALL BACK (not a service visit) the soonest they had was next Tuesday.

All these whiny, bitchy gender fluid soy bags have all the time to be whiny, bitchy, and choose genders because life has been so good that people could afford to spend their time on such things. Well, soon everything is going to suck, their shit they depend on won't work, and there won't be enough actual productive people around to fix things or get things done.

They actually thought we’d all just sit around for a year and come back to the slave cubes.

The question is……WTF are they living on at this point? It doesn’t make sense.

True, and Govt Assistance. It's pretty said to see 20 or 30 year olds living with parents. Just visited an Aunt who has kids, just a little younger than me, living with her. The entire household is sad, lonely, and frankly desperate for anything positive in their lives.

I am happy to say my wife and I have successfully raised free range kids that exist as independent humans.

Nah, this is all about the Boomer Exodus. Covid knocked millions of them into retirement.

Look at the labor engagement rate, or employment rate. This is the final transition to Gen X.

It could be a number of things.

- A lot of older people probably left and never came back after the COVID lockdowns. They decided to retire, or at least semi-retire. Others backfilled those positions and so on down the line, leaving the lower paid jobs unfilled.
- Younger generation (are these still Millenials?) deciding to stay with parents or work "gig" jobs as Doordash or Amamzon drivers. They don't work full time, just enough to pay the bills and food. No real life goals other than that.
- Some younger kids think being influencers on tik tok and YT is their career.

This could end up being a major shift in the workforce. Service related jobs are always short staffed. Especially after COVID, a lot of people don't want a job that involves interacting with the public. That includes skilled trades it seems, as I keep running into cases where they are short staffed, some to the point of going out of business.
