Campaigners unveil banner linking racism and baseball at Red Sox game

Campaigners inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement unfurled an anti-racism banner at a Boston Red Sox baseball game on Wednesday before security guards escorted them from the ballpark, broadcast media said.

The banner, hung over the famed Green Monster wall at the Major League team’s Fenway Park stadium, read “Racism is as American as baseball”, ESPN reported.

A local activist group, the Boston Antifa, said on Twitter it was responsible for the display, which it said was inspired in part by Black Lives Matter.

Boston Antifa quickly claimed responsibility for this.... only to be discovered to be having exactly jack shit to do with the banner.

Instead we get the beginnings of a virtue signaling slap fight on the left.

UPDATE, 1 a.m., Sept. 14: The protest group member who spoke to CSNNE said Antifa Boston's claim of responsibility for hanging the banner at Fenway Park is "ridiculous."

"The five of us are in no way associated with Antifa nor did Antifa Boston have anything to do with the action," the group member wrote via text.

As proof, they provided an image of the banner when it was being unfurled ahead of the demonstration, as a test.
