Getting back to the tech, in terms of ST space armor, we're already more high tech than that now.

The Space Armor in my eye is more like a wearable spaceship, each one with its own HAL 9000

The Armor is a AI, it's not a suit, it's a co-pilot.

Also, with a nod to the Japanese, there's no reason the armor has to be small. Could be a giant robot actually.

I always thought the Gundam Mobile Suit made a lot of sense, it's Starship Troopers next level.

Honestly it's good but I think Gunheads by Steve Parker is my new favorite novel. Eisenhorn offers a perspective of the WH40K universe that you can't really find anywhere else though. It's very unique.
