It's all the British Empire in the end, Canada is British, India is British, quintessentially Canadian is quintessentially British, and so are the Sikhs of the British Empire.TheReal_ND wrote:Hes quintessentially Canadian xDDDD
In fact, the Sikhs of India became British in 1763, they were made British in the same war in which Canada was made British, at exactly the same moment.
Bukkan Singh, born in Malhilpur, Punjab, India, in the British Empire, 1893, came to Canada in 1907 at the age of 14, at the outbreak of the First World War, volunteered for the Canadian Expeditionary Force, wounded twice in battle, treated at the surgery by Lt. Colonel John McCrae himself, repatriated to Canada, died of tuberculosis contracted at the military hospital, buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Kingston Ontario.
Can't get much more quintessentially Canadian than that, no doubt.
An warrior caste who prize physical fitness, martial prowess, and excellence in all things, the Sikhs have always made some of the finest soldiers of the Crown.
I find Jagmeet Singh to be an impressive self made individual in this tradition, but since the Liberals have repositioned themselves ostensibly back on the socialist left, I don't see the electorate swinging left again, whenever it is that the Liberals run out of political capital and get tossed, so I would say Andrew Scheer is more likely the next Prime Minister, even tho he's a beta cuck in the extreme.

Tax cuts means what to you? Seriously if giving more money back to the people and less to the government is a problem, then perhaps we need to give the government a weight loss program?Smitty-48 wrote:GOP tax cuts for the donor class, run up the debt some more, Wall Street correction; same old-same old American Rubes crying in their soup again, like clockwork. /shrug.clubgop wrote:All that salt is good with soup.StCapps wrote:Throw away jokes that fails to address the issue being discussed, clubby is the one whistling past the graveyard.

The vast majority of the budget, trillion dollars in defense pork, trillion dollars in healthcare, and a trillion dollars in corporate welfare, is spent on the donor class, who the GOP are the lickspittle cronies of, hence the whole "run up the debt" part of the equation.

How much of that is spent on Foreign Aid, UN, etc since after WWII? (Nevermind WWII).Smitty-48 wrote:Mmhmm, says the goobers who have run up a twenty trillion dollar debt, and counting. The Conservative wrote:Tax cuts means what to you? If we didn't give away so much with almost any strings attached we how much would the US be in debt? How many of that money would we have spent inside the US instead of propping up the rest of the fucking world?
Oh, and our last president nearly doubled our national debt, against the will of most Americans... so yeah.
Perhaps if Canada got off their ass and did something the US wouldn't have to be the world's military or piggybank.

Most of the debt is on defense pork, veterans administration, and social security.
All the other stuff people talk about is not really a major factor.
Empire-building and paying for retirement. That's what is bankrupting us.

Ah, well, Canadians are cheapskates, and isolationists, we already fought World War One and Two, and we've had enough of that, and if we're going to spend money, we're going to spend it on ourselves, it's not our business to try to run the world, and it's a fool's errand in any case. The Conservative wrote:How much of that is spent on Foreign Aid, UN, etc since after WWII? Except for Obama's spending, I'd agree, but since 1950 we have pushed a trillion or more into aid... and forgiven a lot as well, like when Russia went bankrupt, etc...Speaker to Animals wrote:Most of the debt is on defense pork, veterans administration, and social security.

Trillions were lost and forgiven... we got screwed in so many ways it's not funny.
