Re: Socialism
Fun fact:
The whole time Henry David Thoreau was "roughing it" in his log cabin and writing On Walden Pond, he would walk back to his mother's house each day where she would bake him cookies and provide him with other food and comfort?
I am not sure why I thought of that fun fact, but there it is..

LMFAO
If it's legal then it's not stealing. Are you really this fucking libtarded??
A particular tax sure as shit can be immoral. But not necessarily so. There is nothing immoral about taxing people to build and maintain roads. Oh wait.. LOL

Re: Socialism
The only way will concede a tax law is stealing is when the law itself is either unconstitutional or demonstrably unjust to the point where it flies in the face of natural law.
And as far as here in America, if you actually believed this shit, then you would at the very least minimize your benefiting from what you argue is a gang of thugs stealing from everybody. But I often note that libertarians themselves do not do this. They do not minimize their use of what they claim are ill-gotten resources and services. I am not even arguing you should just opt-out and live like Grizzly Adams (though that would at least be intellectually honest, and refreshing since I won't have to read these insipid libertarian arguments sent across an Internet built by taxes). I am just saying you ought to minimize your use of these things. This means no discretionary use of roads, etc. Don't sit there on the computer sending these nonsense posts across the Internet invented and deployed by DARPA using tax dollars, across an Internet backbone subsidized by the theft from the American taxpayers, and probably sipping on the gay-ass Starbucks frappacino I know you buy every morning on your way to work using the roads built by stealing money from American tax payers.

Re: Socialism
And how did we even get to this point where I have to explain this?
We are not just a bunch of individuals. Nor are we merely a collective. We are both. These things are not mutually exclusive. They are not really even something that needs to be balanced or in conflict all the time.
If you think you can be your individual self in all it's shining glory without the collective of your human society, then take a gander at children raised by fucking wolves in the forest. They are not individuals. Everything that makes you human and great is made possible by human society.
At the same time, if you reject individuality and individual rights, then you get a communist shit hole where nobody is even allowed to be an individual and all expressions therein are strictly controlled.
God dammit people you need both.
A man with no individuality is like a bird with one wing. A man with no membership in a collective identity and society is also like a bird with only one wing. If you want to fly you need both. All our greatest individuals, like Mozart and Newton, were allowed to come to fruition because they also belonged in a complex society with a collective identity that pooled resources and talents in order to make such works possible.
No Mozarts came from the Invisible People in the Amazon rain forest. The cannibal peoples in the South Pacific did not figure out calculus on their own. Fucking duh. Dark age imminent.

So if there's no law against theft stealing is therefore ok?Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 7:45 amFor one thing, theft implies breaking the law, genius.
No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session

No, Kathy Newman, that is not what I said.California wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 8:25 amSo if there's no law against theft stealing is therefore ok?Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 7:45 amFor one thing, theft implies breaking the law, genius.
A tax may or may not be morally good, but in order for me to accept that it is stealing it either has to be unconstitutional or grossly violate of natural law. Collecting taxes to pay for our roads is not inherently immoral, and sure as shit is not "stealing". Get a grip.

Re: Socialism
It becomes theft when the government losses the consent of the governed. So, when you revoke your consent, the government is steeling and it becomes might makes right. The government (sovereign) will beat you down into submission - just like proles should be beaten.California wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 8:25 amSo if there's no law against theft stealing is therefore ok?Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 7:45 amFor one thing, theft implies breaking the law, genius.
