Will be interested to see if the civilian contractors show up on Monday.

Sure, air traffic controllers will be in towers as well. Critical personnel will still be working. And they’ll be paid, just like all the non-essential personnel who are essentially getting free time off will.

No one was less sympathetic to the FAA admins bitching about being mildly inconvenienced by waiting for backpay then the essential workers who had to actually work for their pay through the shutdown.

No, I’m saying that those who won’t show up to work due to the shutdown will still receive backpay. Like the 800+ FAA employees I supported who stayed home for over two weeks last shutdown, and then got backpay for doing two weeks of nothing.
