I don't want them propping up a bad industry with federal tax dollars, that's a poor use of taxpayer funds, whether it's Clean Coal, or Obama's green energy initiative. Subsidized energy boondoggle doesn't become desirable because it's a fossil fuel or green energy.

They aren't cheering for him on this point, because he had very little to do with it.California wrote:

New technologies are often subsidized because R&D is expensive, and not initially profitable. That isn't inherently a boondoggle.StCapps wrote:I don't want them propping up a bad industry with federal tax dollars, that's a poor use of taxpayer funds, whether it's Clean Coal, or Obama's green energy initiative. Renewable energy doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be better than coal.perfect is the enemy of good
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

We agree on this.StCapps wrote:Subsidizing energy boondoggles is bad whether it's solar or wing that is being subsidized, or clean coal being subsidized. You don't have to pick one or the other just because the DNC and GOP do.

If he can be held accountable for the bad parts of what happens to the economy, then he is also responsible for the good things that happen as well.Kath wrote:They aren't cheering for him on this point, because he had very little to do with it.California wrote:

Lol..... so you give Trump credit for the massive drop in unemployment between 2010 and 2016? That's very generous of you. Have you asked your boss for a bonus based on the work you didn't do for a previous six years when you didn't work there? Same logic.... lolThe Conservative wrote:
