Not sure if a 'shove' counts as full-on assault, but that's probably what this is.
I used to wrestle.

Witnesses said Gianforte grabbed Jacob's, his feet went into the air as he went to the ground, and that Gianforte was on top of him afterwards. My guess is Gianforte was kneeling on the ground, to Jacob's side, with his hands still on him.

Was it a body slam? Probably not. Was it a takedown? Yes.

1:40 in this video shows the basics.

As far as how he sounded, I'm not about to make any assumptions. Going from calm, to being unexpectedly assaulted, is going to result in an insane adrenaline dump.
Glad someone else said that, I was thinking close to the same thing. If it was a body slam though, the guy wouldn't be getting up so easily... I have body slammed someone before, its not something you get up from if its real, your air is knocked right out of you.

I've heard several things about this, if he grabbed him by the throat, and then swung his feet behind him, and threw him down and then went to house on him, I really wish there was video... I'd have love to seen an arrogant reporter get what he deserves.

Oh, on a side note, the reporter was asked to leave before this all happened, because he barged in without permission or without an appointment... so he got exactly what he deserved. And if he did get punched by that guy, there would be a lot of blood... as far as I can tell, there was none.

That's what I am imagining.

Has a new hero candidate emerged?
Can't compete with Putin though...

BTW, Putin did that wrong, just saying... he used too much of his body to flip the guy over.

Here's the eye witness account, as I posted earlier.
adwinistrator wrote:Fox News - Greg Gianforte: Fox News team witnesses GOP House candidate 'body slam' reporter

During that conversation, another man — who we now know is Ben Jacobs of The Guardian — walked into the room with a voice recorder, put it up to Gianforte's face and began asking if him if he had a response to the newly released Congressional Budget Office report on the American Health Care Act. Gianforte told him he would get to him later. Jacobs persisted with his question. Gianforte told him to talk to his press guy, Shane Scanlon.

At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, "I'm sick and tired of this!"

Jacobs scrambled to his knees and said something about his glasses being broken. He asked Faith, Keith and myself for our names. In shock, we did not answer. Jacobs then said he wanted the police called and went to leave. Gianforte looked at the three of us and repeatedly apologized. At that point, I told him and Scanlon, who was now present, that we needed a moment. The men then left.

To be clear, at no point did any of us who witnessed this assault see Jacobs show any form of physical aggression toward Gianforte, who left the area after giving statements to local sheriff's deputies.

Shoving a recorder into a person's face isn't aggressive? What world do they live on?

Yeah, I'm often a bit amazed at what they get away with. It's very obnoxious.

One of the worst things that will come out of this is the press gets to play persecuted minority now.
And it may ramp up their aggressiveness.

Then I say let them, and then they will learn what personal space is.
