No, I had a great night. Just a shame I have to watch you shit up every fucking thread on here with nonsense. We used to be able to discuss things without side-tracking into pedantic bullcrap every page, but no more, I guess.Speaker to Animals wrote:

Anywho..
When you read about parsimony today, the textbook example is unicorns. It is claimed that, even though it is technically possible for their to exist unicorns, we ought not posit their existence. But many centuries ago, the example used wasn't unicorns, which medieval scholars believed did exist, but rather, black swans..
Like the ones that it turns out actually exist..
The true reason we ought not posit the existence of unicorns is that we already explored the land surface of the Earth, exhausting all possibilities for the unicorn's continued existence, and it turns out none exist.
Occam's razor is a dangerous heuristic because there exists no law in nature that proscribes theories which rely upon more ontological categories in favor of those theories which rely upon fewer ontological categories. The clockwork view of the Newtonian solar system relied upon fewer ontological categories, and grossly underestimated the potential for celestial impacts upon the Earth. Fortunately, we didn't stick with the "simpler explanation".

Sweet... Goldman Sachs is now running the country. In other news, Trump just realized that building a wall was expensive.

The president-elect turned to the other people in the room — his son-in-law, Jared Kushner; his chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon; his chief of staff, Reince Priebus; and Steven T. Mnuchin, his campaign’s chief fund-raiser and Mr. Trump’s nominee to be Treasury secretary — surprised that his infrastructure ideas had such a potential downside.
“Is this true?” Mr. Trump asked the group, according to those people. Heads nodded. “Why did I have to wait to have this guy tell me?” he demanded.

When Trump won the election you were saying the entire global economy was about to collapse.

It is. Not because of him, but he's certainly doing his best.Speaker to Animals wrote:When Trump won the election you were saying the entire global economy was about to collapse.

Occam's Razor dictates that no childish imbecile is this lucky, that is way too complicated of an explanation. Your assumption requires massive amounts of luck and a belief that all his smart moves are by accident. Occam's Razor is on the side of those who don't think Trump is a dummy, not the other way around.GrumpyCatFace wrote:You're right. Occam's Razor dictates that he's still a childish imbecile. Perfect embodiment of the Right, in this century.Speaker to Animals wrote:GrumpyCatFace wrote:It occurs to me that it's still possible that Trump is not the dribbling idiot that he appears, and all of the immigration/wall nonsense was a distraction from handing the keys to Wall Street. That would make this a legit Plutocratic Coup in our government. Not a comforting thought...
At least you have the right image in your sig line to describe your views.
If you think Trump is stupid, it's because you are projecting on him with your limited imagination that can only assume the worst about the man and never gives him the benefit of the doubt.

Well, ok. Since we are apparently never going to discuss economics in this thread, could you list a couple of "smart moves" that we've witnessed in the first few weeks of this administration? I have yet to witness one.StCapps wrote:Occam's Razor dictates that no childish imbecile is this lucky, that is way too complicated of an explanation. Re: Trump's Economic Plan
In the early going Trump did so much so quickly the media couldn't focus fire and diluted everyone's outrage. Then when Trump gave them something to focus their fire on, with this immigration EO, they are cutting their own throats by picking the wrong battle. Trump is playing the media and his political opponents for chumps right now, he has the media and Democrats gambling on new terror attacks not happening while they play legal games with his EO. Strategically Trump is playing this much smarter than your average idiot, which is why you have to ask is Trump really as dumb as you think he is or have you been mislead?GrumpyCatFace wrote:Well, ok.
