Maybe, but remember how many voted against Hillary instead of for Trump. The same middle that sent Obama to the WH for two terms was basically saying "anyone, literally anyone, but her."
I think it's different.

It's not. Only great political candidates unseat an elected one term POTUS in American politics, the Ronald Reagan's and Bill Clinton's knocking off elected incumbent POTUS's are rare exceptions indeed. If the Democrats want to beat Trump in 2020, they are going to need a skilled political operator to do it. Can't just field any bozo and expect to win just because Hillary came so close to beating a non-incumbent Trump. Being an incumbent POTUS is a massive advantage in America politics.

I actually think this is the tactic of the Democrats: to keep up the intense Trump demonizing until the next election, and do to him what he did to Hillary. That still takes an exceptional candidate from the other side though: Hillary would have beat anybody else but Trump.

Iran beat Carter, and Ross Perot beat Bush Sr.; Reagan and Clinton were drafting.
p.s. And Hillary beat herself.

Both elected incumbent POTUS slayers were no chump candidates, they were skilled political operators who themselves went on to have a two-term presidency, these guys don't fall off trees. America has only two exceptions to the "elected incumbent POTUS always wins" rule in the last century, not good odds.
Not seeing anyone on the Democrat bench who could fit that bill.

Fuck Left Neutrality, and the horse it rode in on.
Well, then you are saying fuck over 70% of the GOP electorate..
Yes, finally the GOP electorate has declared jihad on that loser pajeet. The GOP electorate is sending a clear message: DEATH to the infidels and usurpers of the FCC.

It will be Oprah 2020. The Dems do not want to wait it out until 2024. They will go with the female, black, celebrity over anyone that has any political experience. The POTUS race is now a reality TV road show. The Dems do not have any politicians with mainstream likability, so they will go to Hollywood to try and unseat Trump. The Rock won't run and risk losing his money printing status as an actor.

Meanwhile, Congress will be re-elected in its entirety. They've got to be loving this shit.

Why wouldn't Oprah wait until 2024? The Democrats might not want to wait, but their best options to beat Trump will probably want to wait and the Democrats can't force them to run in 2020 instead.

The Democrats have demonized every GOP POTUS since Eisenhower, part of their playbook. Their agents in the MSM do their bidding. Their first tool is to paint GOP presidents as dumb. Then corrupt. Then racist, etc.
